Yes, in 2025 we have decided to go with a flat fee of $75. If you do 9 or less games you will receive a partial refund in December. The fee goes towards many things. Including training, website, accountant fees, arbiter and many more items.

Yes, we have many umpires attend pro school in Florida at the Wendelstedt School. Both J.C. Reed and Perry Swartz have become professional umpires.
Keystone Umpires pays umpires by electronic deposit or by check. Our payroll is based on Monday to Sunday. Payment is released the NEXT Saturday. We also issue 1099's for umpires that make $600 or more in a calendar year. We want to keep you and ourselves in good standing with the IRS.
Great question! For tournament baseball the tournament director makes the final call. For leagues, we as umpires make the call. This is 2 different sets of circumstances. Big Show & In the Net use turf fields so rain normally doesn't stop the tournaments unless it's torrential downpour, lightening or an act of God.
